First | Previous They take me to the local SRB building. It's a slightly battered, slightly run-down little office building, filled with normal-looking receptionists and workers. No suits, no security, no sunglasses. It's a bit of a let-down, actually. Well, it is, until they take me to the north bathroom. Anders comes in with us, and leads me into a stall. At least it's clean. Uh…? I realize there's nothing in the stall – not even a toilet. It's just clean metal and untouched tile. Anders clicks a button in the side of the wall, and the bathroom and stall doors close themselves. They seal with synchronized hisses. "Anders, Level 2, " she says. Then the entire stall clicks, and starts sinking into the ground. Now we're talking. I do my best to keep the giddy excitement from my face. "The bathroom? " I say. "Really? It's a little cliché. " "I can see you're grinning, " she states. The little platform drops down into a subterranean operations center. Yeah, you've seen the movies. A row of cubicles and testing facilities stretches out for what seems like miles.
They also don't build underground nests because they need sunlight to keep the eggs warm. And female alligators try to seek secluded areas away from humans and other alligators to build their nests. Where was Valkyrie in Infinity War? (Picture: Marvel) Kazillions of people have already rocked up to see the new Avengers movie, Infinity War (and if you're not of them yet, this does contain spoilers). Quite a few of those who have been to the cinema to see this latest epic have been scratching their heads over something. Of all the dozens of heroes, anti-heroes and villains that showed up from previous Marvel movies (this is the biggest crossover event in movie history IN CASE YOU DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW), some are missing apparently missing, and one is worrying people in particular. That one character is a bit of a f***ing badass, so people are a tad upset. So what the hell happened to Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, in Infinity War? Did her character actually feature in it at all? And more to the point, who is she? Valkyrie has appeared in one Marvel movie, the 2017 Thor sequel, Ragnarok. She is a mouthy space warrior, a somewhat sadistic alcoholic, and the only survivor of a holocaust by Hela that wiped out the Valkyrie people.
Beyond the title sequence lies an entire world ripe for 3D exploration. Of note is the tunnel through which Coraline crawls to move about the two worlds; it's perhaps the best example of how well modern 3D technology works as the tunnel seems to begin at the front of the screen and almost begs for viewers to stick their hands inside. It seems to go through the TV and well out beyond the back of it; it's another one of the exceptionally-realized moments that might not immediately jump out as a shot that would stand out from the rest, but again, it seems that those more ordinary moments are the ones that truly define the strength of high definition 3D presentations. Of course, the tunnel scenes also remind viewers of the inescapable shortcoming of the technology; these and other awe-inspiring elements demand the largest screen possible, and while they look great on a 50" display, there's no doubt that they each cry out for something far larger. Other scenes, such as those in Coraline's kitchen, appear nicely done and very perceptibly deep, but then again, that particular environment appears quite dimensional in the 2D version as well.
