No well-adjusted person would lose their mind over someone using their secret toilet the way Rick did. He was so overcome with a desire for revenge he upended his entire life. He kidnapped 470, 000 fly children and changed the outcome of a robot/dinosaur war just to find Tony. In a fraction of the time he could have simply put an impenetrable barrier around the entire planet. But the point wasn't to keep his secret pooping place private; the point was to give himself a purpose, no matter how meaningless. Rick might be the smartest man in the infinite universes, but he has never figured out how to enjoy life. The widower Tony understood that. He was using his wife's death as an excuse to give up, something Tony recognized after Rick challenged him. That epiphany was how Tony knew Rick was suffering from the same kind of emotional paralysis. "You need the same thing I needed Rick, " Tony said, "You need someone to give you permission to live. " In classic Rick and Morty fashion, the most accurate insight into Rick Sanchez came from an alien going to the bathroom.
The five of them successfully get back into Heist Con with professional passes — but Rick and Morty seemingly abandon Glar, Angie, and Truckula after they get past the main entrance, aiming to square off against Knightley on their own. The many double-crosses of "One Flew Over the Crewcoo's Morty" Dressed as a low-budget version of Freddie Mercury while conducting a Q&A session, Knightley fires verbal shots at Rick and Morty before challenging them to a heist-off. It's Knightley's Eight — Snake Arms, Double Microwave, Monitor Lord, Key Catcher, and The Shapeshiftress, as well as Angie Flint, Glar, and Truckula — against our dastardly duo Rick and Morty, whose "Sanchez's Five" are down three members thanks to the first double-cross of the episode. The second double-cross (which is really a switcheroo) happens immediately after: when Knightley invites Rick to become a member of Knightley's Nine, he reaches into his bag to discover a puddle of sludge instead of the Crystal Skull of Horowitz that he and his team heisted in the middle of Heist Con.

RICK AND MORTY Season 4 Continues to Challenge Its Fans Warning: This post contains major spoilers for:burp: season four, episode two of Rick and Morty. Adult Swim Rick and Morty began its fourth season by addressing fans who want the series to be more like it was in season one. The premiere's message wasn't subtle either, with Fascist Morty screaming, "I want to have fun, classic Rick and Morty adventures like in the old days! " The show continued its meta-commentary to its viewers in the season's second episode. It was an unflinching reminder Rick Sanchez is not a hero anyone should be trying to emulate. Rick has always been depressed, and even beyond his self-destructive behavior and drinking, he doesn't always handle it well. He almost killed himself after Unity, a collective hive mind, broke up with him in season two's emotional " Auto Erotic Assimilation. " That final scene remains the show's saddest, but the end of "The Old Man and the Seat" was even more revealing about how much Rick hates himself and his life.
