My sister (34) took cared of me since I was born, she was 17, we share the same mother but both our parents are addicts and just unreliable people. She had to go to court at one point and she was followed by CPS for a bit. The problem was that she was caring for our grandma too, she was ill and slowly become dependent to others for everything. I had and still have a great life. My sister worked at one point three jobs to put food on the table, pay bills and so on. Grandmother died 4 years ago and it was hard but a relief too, because she was in pain for the last two years and had develop dementia. My sister took care of her health, paid medical bills for a part-time nurse and worked so many jobs to the point that she was not able to sleep more than 3 hours. My sister is now 34 years old, but sometimes she looks older. I don't think she ever had fun, relaxed or just do something that she liked. After grandma passed away, I thought that she could afford to slow down and maybe change her jobs or something, instead she continued to work in all of them and when I asked why, she told me that she was saving for my education.
